Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers, and all of the people who are mothering,
and every kind, nurturing, funny person in the world.  I got a card today from my
husband, with this sweet photo of me and my Mom.  I loved her so much,
and think of her every day.  She was a great mother, kind, generous, full of life.

She had a Masters degree in Bacteriology, and loved science and nature.  I was 
saying to Steven my husband today, that if I needed someone to take care of the
children for the weekend, and I called my mother, who lived in Ottawa, (we
live in Toronto), she would always say yes.  Quite remarkable.
