My Toronto Show picks two of my pics and Happy All Holidays

Last night in a day of unprecedented work from all
fronts I learned that two of paintings will be featured
in the My Toronto 2011 show opening here on May 12th
6 - 8 p.m. at Studio Vogue Gallery  If you're in town,
please come out and see what promises to be a cool show.

Happy every holiday you celebrate this weekend.
It's a packed one for us.  We will have the family
together for dinner on Sunday, a treat I'm looking forward to.

Plus it's Earth Day today.  I wish the earth much better
treatment than it's had this year.  It's also my month-a-versary
of my first date with my dear Steven, so I better wind down
my painting activities and wish him another great month
together over a chamomile tea.  It's late.

Have a super-Saturday-enjoying-life day.

HI Barbara, I haven't checked in a while, been so busy, but wanted to say congrats on getting 2 in the My Toronto show; the last 3 pieces that you have posted have all been exciting. Your work is so happy it is uplifting.

Well deserved congratulations on getting juried into the My Toronto 2011 show, Barbara. Though I have many, I believe Shadow Play in Forest Hill is my all time favorite Muir original. The blues in the shadow are spectacular, one can't help but smile while admiring your palette and brushwork.
Have you thought of painting this in a larger scale?
pure joy.

Congratulations, Barbara!

I'm really loving the shadows in the top one and the strong colors and composition in the second.

You should be floating, yes?!

Hi Sally,

Thanks so much. I'm so glad you like them. I'm going to tweak one of them a bit, and then off they go.

Hi Pam,

Thanks so much. I'm delighted that you like that. Soon we'll see shadows like that again here. No leaves on the trees yet.

Hi Marilyn,

I'm thrilled that you like it. So far painting it on a bigger scale hasn't crossed my mind. Bigger scale has though -- I'd like to do something very big. Hmmm you've got me thinking.

Hi Melinda,

I was definitely floating when I read your comment. Thank you so much. I remember the president on West Wing Jeb Bartlett, always said after a big event, "Next?" It's a good thing in an artist's life when there's quite a bit going on. So I am happy. Yes.
