We are lucky, and bad news aside -- this is a Happy Monthaversary

There is bad news in the world -- horrible. Bad news in the family -- it will get better, so by rights this should not have been a Happy Monthaversary.  But it has been.  Thank you to my kind friend who walked with me on one of the snowiest days this winter (only now it's actually spring.) Thank you to an incredible piece of music I was turned on to by my novel The Idiot --Khachaturian's Sabre Dance played by the Berlin Philharmonic orchestra is phenomenal.

Thank you to my friends in the neighbourhood, and around the world online, on Instagram, and Facebook. The drawing is of a hotel room service breakfast -- always a complete pleasure for me and Steven.

Now to make dinner, and more of this Happy Monthaversary of our first date.

Have a loving your life day.

Hi Barbara, I've just found you through Alyson Stanfield's podcast while listening to some old ones I had missed. I loved hearing the things you do for your husband and your art. Your positiveness came through and I love that. I'm a positive person, too (for the most part). When I heard near the last that you've kept a blog since 2008, I had to come and see it.

I'm so glad I did. You're an inspiration not only for art, but for blogging. I've had a blog since 2009 but I've not posted nearly as much as you have. I agree with you about it bringing so many opportunities, even though Oprah's people have never contacted me ;)

After reading a couple of your latest posts, I tried to subscribe but the feedburner doesn't work, boo. So, I've added you to my folder of must check in often blogs - they're few and far between these days. I really miss the heyday of the blogging art world.

You've inspired me to try and post more often even if it's crickets most of the time. I look at it as more of a journal of my life and sometimes share too much but that is me and who I am. I'm okay with that.

I look forward to reading your past posts and new ones to come.

By the way, your art is the best! :)

Thanks so much Jaime,

I so enjoyed your podcast. Our lives have been pretty thick with serious family medical issues, so I am behind on
catching up with the wonderful podcasts on Alyson's website. So glad I listened to yours.

Sorry that the feed burner doesn't work. The blog is my online practice -- maybe Instagram is more direct. I'm not a big Facebook fan, but I try and keep up every few days.

Keep inspiring people.

XOXOXOXOXOXO Barbara

I love the lightness of your drawings. And as always the subjects. So sorry to hear you have more bad news when we all could use more good. Hope it all turns out well. By the way I keep trying to subscribe and it won’t work for me either.

Yikes. I don't know why you can't subscribe. I should look into that. It feels
sometimes like there are 150 computer related jobs to do, and I will look
into this one next week, when I've got my work into the show I'm prepping for.

XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO Barbara
