There is so much to tell you! The show opens on Saturday

Our show at Studio Vogue Gallery
Barbara Muir and Gill Cameron
Watch, enjoy, and come on out.

Life has been crazy, busy, wild exciting and hard
work in the past week-- but the show is up at  Studio
Vogue Gallery, and our opening is Saturday between
5 and 7 p.m..  Please come out if you're in town.

Today my dear friends Davide Tonizzo and Sandra
Pacitti worked on a video for Gill Cameron and me that
gives you a good idea of what you'll see when you come
to the opening (we would love to see you there!)
Sandra is a wonderful writer, and Davide a superb designer.
So Davide put the film together and Sandra helped suggest
improvements.  Thank you so much to both of them.

Sally Chupick and I ham it up in my kitchen
The other day Sally Chupick who runs The Gallery
at the Porch Door in the lovely stone porch of her
farmhouse was visiting Toronto and dropped in for a fun
talk about art over coffee.  What a treat.  She was so kind
about my messy, little house, my art everywhere and my
work.  It was just a delight to see her.  One of the nicest things
about being a blogger is that we create delightful mutual
admiration societies based on our work, our writing,
and the commentary.

My thanks to Joyce Fournier at Studio Vogue for doing
a beautiful job hanging our show, to Gill Cameron for
showing her beautiful paintings with me, to Davide Tonizzo
for creating this little film, to Sandra Pacitti for her help, wisdom
and humour.  And my thanks to Sally Chupick for showing my
work, being a kind, supportive friend and for her wonderful
art.  Oh and most of all my thanks to Steven loving me and
for understanding and tolerating the upheaval and mess of
an artist preparing for a show.

Enjoy the video.  I will be showcasing (pardon my pun) work
from the show for the next few days.

Have an the-world-is-an-amazing-place day

I must admit I have no idea what you are talking about when you say Skype Visuals and Skype Portraits. Are you somehow taking photos through Skype and working with them on the computer or are you actually painting from a photo taken on Skype. I'm confused.

Congratulations, Barbara, on your show and for keeping it all together! I'm so happy that you have so many dear friends, good family and opportunities to show your work.

I enjoyed the video too.

Have a grand time! I'll be thinking of you.

Hi Sea,

I work on a Mac computer and use Grab to take photos while I'm talking to people on Skype. I paint some of the portraits that way, using the photo reference I created while talking to them. I have also drawn and painted people live while talking to them via Skype video.Oprah for instance. I drew her live while she did her TV show, and I was on a video monitor on the back of her set during the show taping as I drew her.

I hope this helps.

Take care,

Barbara

Hi Melinda,

Thank you so much. I'm delighted that you liked my work and the video of our show. I'm happy that you live in a vibrant community too and are in demand as a truly superb artist. And above all I'm glad to know you.

I too applaud all your hard work in delivering this huge assignment but I can see it's been a labour of love - also full marks to all those British flicks that kept you company during the last two weeks of painting with your nose to the grindstone - ha ha. Oh yes and to Steven who tended the pets! Look forward to seeing your exhibit!
Love, Marcia

Hi Marcia,

Thanks so much. Nothing like British comedies for keeping a funny painter going. You are too kind. I'm more than glad that it all worked out.

Love,

Barbara

Hi Laurel,

I wish you could be here too. Yes the large scale pieces make me very happy. And the gallery displays them beautifully. One day we'll get to attend each other's shows. I can't wait.

XOXOXOXOXOX Barbara

Dear Wonder Woman, Congratulations on a spectacular show! I hope the second reception is packed with admirers and collectors, and all the kudos you deserve. Bear hugs and Bravos to you!

Hi Belinda,

Thanks so much. Our second opening is bound to be good I know. It's close to Christmas, and part of the proceeds of the sales will go to supporting two little orphan girls in Tanzania so they can go to high school. So I'm looking forward to it.
