Favorite carrots of all time

I  do love carrots, but not the tired, metallic
tasting carrots you get at the store in the middle
of winter.  This year at the market I found a
farming family who took great pride in
having strange carrots.  They sold carrots
shaped like round orange balls, carrots in
red, yellow and sometimes a dark purple,
and all of their carrots were delicious.
We ate them in stir-fries, soup and salad
and were entirely delighted.

This little watercolour features bunches
of their beauties on a lovely antique blue
and white platter.  Fit setting for these
carrot jewels.

Have an eating-your-carrots day.

Hi Barbara,
You know, your drawings are like a wonderful Christmas present to me.
They are ever so good and I enjoy seeing them and reading your comments immensly! How about making a book of them, along with the texts?
I very much admire your discipline - the fact that you draw where ever you are, even at a dinner party!I am truly impressed and wish I could do that, too!

Delightful! Your signature vivid colors work wonderfully here.

Purple carrots? That I've got to try!

Hi Liza,

Thank you so much. I seem to be on a drawing mission. But it involves nothing more than drawing as much as possible. Perhaps I have the drawing flu. It's a sweet relief from not being able to do much in the month leading up to Christmas.

Happy New Year to you.

Love your work.

Hi Gwen,

The purple carrots were bright yellow inside, and peppery. Delicious in a salad, and pretty with red peppers and
tomatoes and garden greens. Can't wait until next summer.

Happy New Year Gwen.

Hi Marilyn,

Each painting you do leaves me breathless. I am just on a bit of a marathon now. As soon as the new year comes I will take it easy again.
