My first ever iPad drawings

Okay -- tonight I crossed the line into techno wonder.
How could anyone hearing about David Hockney's
wonderful work with the iPad, not be tempted to
try it out.  Last month Hockney had a show here, all
displayed on iPads and I get it now.

Tonight I got the Sketchbook Pro app and started playing.
I have no idea what I'm doing, but the possibilities seem
to be endless.

Will I do this from now on?  No.  Of course not,
but from time to time, or maybe even every couple
of days I may show you what I've been doing.
We are meant to enjoy what's out there I believe.
And we are!

Here's my first effort.  Clearly I had no idea what I
was doing.

Happy New Year!

I missed you, but I've had the flu this week.

Have a drawing-with-whatever-you-can day.

What fun! I love Hockney, and his iPhone and iPad paintings. I'm currently reading interviews with him in the book "A Bigger Message: Conversations with David Hockney," where he talks a lot about drawing.

I think you've found your next favourite medium. You've got natural talent for it. These images are wonderful!

Dear Barbara
I didn't know you were down with flu.
I'm glad you have the magic ipad to divert and entrance you!
With your playful, exuberant line, you are a perfect fit! A techno wizard you are and spontaneous to boot!
Get better soon! I hope you're well enough for chicken soup and in the meantime - more glorious images!!!
love, Marcia

Hi Laura,

I love Hockney too. I'd like to read the book. Well this is a fun way to draw. It's taking me back to finger painting -- but without the mess.

Still the finger paintings looked great on the fridge (I hope I still have the great ones my kids did.)

XO Barbara

Hi Melinda,

You're a sweetheart, but I suspect everyone can do this. The app certainly makes it easy. I am craving the paint, so soon I'll be back on canvas. Maybe tomorrow!!!

Happy New Year!

Hi Marcia,

I was sick last week, but I'm fine now. Fully recovered. Thank goodness. Yes chicken soup, and finished a very sad book. Yikes.

Nothing but funny books for the next week at least.

Love,

Barbara

Barbara, these are so fun. I agree with Marcia... you are truly a techno wizard!

Sorry you were sick, but luckily it seems your new toy kept you preoccupied!

hugs,
Nicki
