Summoning summer in my mind

Weather's coming in darling

Apparently the brain is susceptible to word clues, so that
if I read, "She could feel the sun's heat flooding the room,
and hear the waves rolling in on the beach," I will
experience those sensations in my brain.

Good.  Because we are about to get the coldest weather
we've had all winter, which cruelly will last all through
March break!  We've had super strong winds, and now
freezing cold.  The cashiers in the supermarket say,
"well it's been so nice all winter, I guess we can't
complain."

No.  But we can imagine something else.  Here's
a little painting of summer, inspired in part
by an artist whose work I love -- Nancy Boynton
Hartley.

Have a thinking-summer-words day.

Barbara, You are a sweetheart, and a breath of fresh air! Thank you for including me in your post! Your painting is stunning, as is all of your work!! Sounds like you will have some indoor time, to catch up on your studio work!
Here's to sunny days ahead! The winter weather will soon be behind us. I can imagine you, sitting on the lawn, under, the deep blue skies, fluffy clouds, high above, and the hot sun, warming you, head to toe! I think, I'll join you, out on the lawn. Save space for me!

Hi Nancy,

You are right. It is the perfect time to concentrate on painting, and turn
the heat up in the studio! What a lovely idea, the thought of sitting out
somewhere warm, (under an umbrella of course) and having a little
glass of wine with you and toasting your brilliant work, and your
amazing career! You make me happy every single time I see your work!

XOXOXOXOXO Barbara
