A double meaning -- why this time of year is exciting.

Canada Day and the celebrations always make me feel happy
in meaningful ways.  My firstborn son was born the
day after Canada Day, and I went into labour with him on
Canada Day.  My husband found this drawing in a box of
old sketchbooks in the garage years ago.  I did the drawing
in the hospital, and am amazed at my determination to record
 this lovely person.

So I am always happy for my country, which I think is
a great one, and for our family -- because the real beginning
of our family was the day after Canada Day with the
arrival of one of the most wonderful people I have
ever known.  He is sweet, funny, talented, and
well loved by all who know him.

Happy Canada Day.
