Missing New York

I came upon a post I wrote in 2020 when I worried about
New Yorkers, not being able to celebrate Mother’s Day as
they normally do. I loved being reminded that New Yorkers
make a big deal out of Mother’s Day. Families take their
mothers out to dinner flower stores are everywhere, and
people buy so many flowers for their mothers. It is an event
in the city.

Of course, everything has changed because of COVID, and
the city may not be quite as vibrant as it was before.

My family and I used to go for dinner to a restaurant here
in Toronto that no longer exists because of COVID. Still, I
found this drawing I did of a woman I met with her baby on
Mother’s Day weekend one year when we were in New York.
I was showing my work at the time in New York City. Every
time we visited, the city was so much fun!

Wishing you and your family a very joyous Mother’s Day
weekend.

Have a loving your life day!
