I discovered this painting in a box of small paintings in our cold room tonight.
And I love it. My friend Flora Doehler has been such a helper in my painting
life. She encouraged me to start blogging about a year before I did. My son
Christopher got my blog going and I am extremely grateful to him. And Flora
had been on my case to get it together. I am so grateful to her.
I learned about the vivacity of acrylic ink from Flora too. And she has inspired
me in too many ways to share here. Apparently she posed over Skype for me.
So she was part of that exciting story, which thanks to Howard Wolinsky's push
to see Skype paintings for a Skype blog he was doingat the time, got the interest
of the people at the Oprah Winfrey show, and lead me to one of the most amazing
experiences in my art career -- drawing Oprah live via Skype on her show. So this
portrait makes me happy. Thank you for your help and encouragement Flora.
Forgive the layout issues with this post. My web helper is off for a week, so we'll
fix it when she returns.
