Bouyancy -- the kindness of friends

Happiness
Acrylic on Birch panel
5 x 7 inches
Barbara Muir © 2014
This was a wonderful day.  I spent most of it with
super intelligent young people filled with ideas.
It was both fascinating and exciting to hear the
range of what they were thinking about.  It made
me hopeful for a better tomorrow, and joyous
about the day.

The painting is of a dear friend of mine.  I am
lucky to live in a community of super supportive
and loving people.  In fact as I know I say
often, I'm lucky to live, work, and know kind
people in every part of my life.  I love the
expression on the subject's face.  I know I'm probably
going to work on it some more.  With portraits
often I do keep going.  I like it when the person
starts to seem present.  That's beginning to
 happen here.

Have an-enjoying-your-wonderful-life day.

Don't you just hate it when you see a painting you would love to own and you know it's either not for sale, or if it was you couldn't afford it! I love your work, but this is the first one I've seen that I would buy if I could. Isn't it silly. If as Artists we knew what it was that makes someone want to buy we would do it all the time.

Hi Sea Dean,

Thank you so much! You are sweet. It is for sale, and you can afford it if you'd like it.

XOXOXO Barbara

She's beaming far beyond her 5"x7" panel. What a lovely expression, Barbara. She has the glow of knowing that she is loved or of blissful contentment.
pure joy.

Hi Marilyn,

She is for sure loved, and I saw pure happiness in her expression, so I'm delighted that she looks content.

Love your work.

XOXOXO
