Adapting to change -- and a day in art

Tea in the gallery with Marcia

(In the original I tried to include
a suggestion of Marcia.  Looking
at it later, I realized that the
figure part, and yellow background
weren't working.  I painted out the
figure and changed the background
colour and like it much better.  Besides
Marcia deserves a proper portrait.
I promise I will do one -- soon
I hope!)

Today was a happy day as far as art friendships go. The painting
above started as a celebration of going to the Art Gallery of Ontario
with a dear friend who is an amazing artist in drawing, painting and
sculpture. It seems right for a day when I talked to my dear
artist friend in The Netherlands who is making both cards of
cats and dogs using her beautiful, joyous paintings, and also
making ceramics featuring those pets.

Plus I got a letter from a sweet artist friend in Texas, who had
gone on an extensive six week holiday in Europe. My dream.

I worked on my current painting doing the under drawing, and
thought about my dreams of next steps.  My friend in The
Netherlands agrees that we are lucky to be thinking about
what's next in our creative lives. I like that the painting above
had to be rethought when it didn't work.

The change we're adapting to? The needs and perpetual
vigilance for the safety of our tiny Siamese kitten.

So I hope you had a happy and productive day.

Have a loving your life day!
