Portrait Artist

My Photo
I paint and draw portraits on commission, from life, photographs and Skype visuals. One of the most exciting moments in my career was drawing Oprah Winfrey live via Skype during the taping of her show "Where in the Skype are you?" To commission a portrait, or purchase one of my paintings please contact me at: barbara.muir@sympatico.ca I'm exhibiting at The Amsterdam Whitney Gallery in New York City for the month of May, and at the DVAC show at Todmorden Mills, in Toronto. Tuesday -- a marathon run

Tuesday is my longest day so I won't say too much.
I teach from 9:50 in the morning until 5:10 p.m., then see
students, then drive home, then head out to paint with
my art group. I enjoy every part of the day to the fullest,
but when I get to you close to 11 p.m. my time, I
don't have a lot of juice left for either thought or
comment.

Tonight I painted over an old painting, and the underpaint
didn't agree with the over paint. I thoroughly
enjoyed the process, but the product is not worth
putting here.

Instead I'll show you the few changes I've made to the
little kitchen painting, and call it a day. It's not
finished yet, but will be in the next few days. You
know how it is. You keep seeing new things.

Have a ready-for-dynamic-and-exciting-change day.

Your work is gorgeous.... all of it but this one really struck me...
Great scene and mood. AND it's a still life AND portrait!

Hi Marian,

Thank you. I'm glad you like the painting. What a lovely compliment.

Take care,
