An absolutely perfect June day

This was the quintessentially perfect summer day.  I sat on
my back porch drawing the scene in front of me, after a
glorious walk in the park.  Last week at the National Art
Gallery in Ottawa, I bought what I thought were the
crayons they'd had in the Gaugin exhibit portrait room.
In that room we had great big coloured soft crayons to
draw our portraits with.  I posted mine a week ago.

Turns out these brilliant, wide crayons are watercolour
crayons, and I was playing with them today to
create this scene.  A treat all round.  So here it is.
After this was finished we went to the park to feed the
swans.  The swans love Steven and other visitors stand
aghast as the mother hisses and lets Steven feed her by
hand.  That is true friendship.

And now the fabulous month of June, the month of
bloom is finished and we're sorry to see her go on
this her most glorious last day.

Have a loving your summer day.

Hi Barbara,

Your use of the watercolours crayons is so good! Lovely painting, lovely description of sitting on your back porch drawing what you see. It's so invigorating to just see what's around us, isn't it. And looking at something long enough to create an image of it, that is a fine pursuit indeed.
