Back into the chill

Hi everyone,

It's chilly again today. To keep ourselves warm we went
for a quick walk and rewarded ourselves with delicious
decaf at a Starbucks on Yonge Street. I stand right on the
edge of some new work, and am in the deep thought stage.
Tomorrow I'm sure I'll move into the hard work stage,
but in the meantime I was once again tempted to try the
20 minute watercolour challenge that I learned about
from Laura Starett, who in turn discovered it through
www.twentyminutechallenge.blogspot.com.

True this took a few minutes over the time limit, but
not much. I had to do other work today, and had to leave
it. The little painting is of the beach in Nova Scotia
that we walk on every day when we're out there. Even
though it is the lightest of sketches it gives me the
feeling of being there.

Have a dreaming-of-your-summer-escape day.

Beautiful, Barbara--I love to see the same intense colors as you use in your other work; I should make note of how you've nicely distinguished the fore- from the middle ground with color--I always confuse the issue by bouncing back and forth! And the reflections in the water are lovely!

B, This is *beautiful*. Perfect and lovely just like it is. I love the colors, the light-touch washes against the darker horizon and the juiciness of the whole thing.
Good luck on that road to new work. I can relate to that deep thought, and I'm high five-ing you from the side of the road.

Hi Barbara,
Love this little watercolour rendering of Pugwash; the happy light-hearted feel sings a clear pure song.

Hi Laura,

Thank you so much. Give me a break! You are such a superb painter. I'm just trying to create something I can show, while I do slow work on other projects.

You are sweet!

Take care,

Barbara

Hi Belinda,

Thanks so much. You have definitely encouraged me. I think you watercolour painters are decidedly generous in your praise. I love your work.

As for the new work. I am letting it develop slowly, like a thought flower unfolding. Fingers crossed.
