The whole shooting match

I've spent the whole day painting, and I'm
finally (almost) finished my three paintings for
New York. Please be advised that the shell may
not stay over the head of the central figure.

(I will take better photos tomorrow
in daylight, and show you the
final images of all three paintings.)

I am totally wiped and it's very late. So I just
want to say thank you so much everyone for
your support and kind thoughts. Thank you
to everyone I spoke to today about the shells.
Yes shells. I'd intended to put them over
each of the faces, but decided at most to leave
the one over the center woman. We will see.
The song that came to mind when I looked
at it was George Harrison's Within You
Without You, maybe not what I'm going for.
I was listening to Malcolm Gladwell's book
What The Dog Saw, which it turns out is
quite amazing. So I think I got swallowed
up in thought. Not a bad place to be once in
a while.

Have a got-er-done day.

These are beautiful!! I like the shell in the middle one. You've done a great job on each and they work so well together. Good luck in NY.

Each portrait is so strong in it's own right but to see them in a group is very powerful. I can just imagine the statement they make at their size. Absolutely stunning work, Barbara. Easy to see why you are so tired! I like that shell in the middle but completely trust that your strong design skills will guide you. Would love to see these beauties hanging side by side in a Gallery setting.

I'm glad you like them. I like the shell too, but I think I'm taking it off.

But today I'm resting. Thanks I will be sure to have fun in N.Y.

Hi Gwen,

Head on over to New York, the week of May 6th, and we'll party together.

I'll be there until the 9th.

Thanks for your sweet compliments. I know you understand how it feels when you get a big project finished. Really good!

Hi Barbara,

Wow, you have been busy and you certainly have every right to feel tired and somewhat overwhelmed.

You have done a beautiful job of these ladies- they are each stunning in their own unique beauty. I enjoy seeing how you capture their smiles, their skin tones, the texture of their wet hair- each one so different. Congratulations on this and every other successful project you have shared with us.

XO Nicki
