Runners -- go for it!

To honour the runners in my family, here is a drawing I did
of a pair of sneakers in my pastel days.  My sons are both
runners now.  One runs competitively, and the other to run.

I don't think they know that long ago their parents used to
run together every night.  Yes we did.  In fact when our
first son was born we ran every night for awhile pushing
the baby stroller.

That activity got scrapped when we realized that it was
affecting every aspect of our parenting life, making us
horrifically tired, and argumentative.  Plus the
baby wouldn't nurse after our runs.  Still I have
happy memories of our fast trips through the neighbourhood.

We now enjoy our walks together with the same delight
that we experienced running before we had children.

Have a taking a run at it day.
