Portrait artist -- I paint and draw portraits on commission, from life and using Skype visuals. One of the most exciting moments in my career was drawing Oprah Winfrey live via Skype during the taping of her TV show "Where in the Skype are you?" Now it's starting to get a bit crazy, but there's more!
My work is going to appear in a group show at
the Arta Gallery in the Distillery District, at Suite
102, Building 9, 55 Mill Street. The show is called
The Light of Winter, and the opening is on Thursday,
December 10, from 6 - 8 p.m. I can't be at the opening,
but if you're in town, please go to the show and enjoy
it. It runs to December 26.

Tonight's image is one of the paintings you can see in
that show. If you're visiting Toronto, the Distillery
District
is a must see -- galleries, restaurants and
fabulous theater.

Today was my longest day -- so goodnight.

Have a life-is-filled-with-opportunities day.

Congratulations, Barbara!!
Seems like you really got the ball rolling here. I am very happy for you!! Like the way you've painted the hair with all those different colours - super!

Hi Liza,

the ball is rolling all right! Wow.
Yes I'm glad this is going out into a bona fide gallery.

Hi Barbara ,

Of course I love it but I’m thinking there’s more to this blogging than meets the eye!
I'm developing huge admiration for those who blog - and mega respect for those. who, like yourself, do it on a daily or almost daily basis. I somehow think pedaling up the Sydenham hill in Dundas (low gear) would be easier, puff puff! Stamina eh girl?

Really beautiful, Barbara. Your colors are so good for the soul especially during the long and not very light month of November - thank-you!
