This was our Thanksgiving dinner in the
studio. Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving
in October at the end of the harvest.

off Steven's out-of-this-world pumpkin pie.
friends! It has been a wonderful year for me,
and despite the economic challenges, in many
ways a wonderful year for your country. The
election of Obama was huge beyond what
anyone can adequately express, but I am
proud of you for doing that.
I'm also proud of all of you for your wonderful
art. That's been a super delight for me this
year. I give you thanks for that bounty.
Here's to a glad-to-be-grateful day.

We were the little sad family this Thanksgiving, so you wouldn't want to see our photo, trust me! Edgar did all of the cooking while I lazed around in jammies (missing my boy), unable to focus on anything except NOT getting the cold that so wanted to snuggle up.
The day was saved when we web-cammed with Ell and then I got to see your lovely photos and to read your generous words.
You're right!! We have everything to be thankful for and I am very grateful for your joyful soul!

Oh, I forgot to admire your golden crackers and crowns! We do this at Christmas time, too. Sometimes the treats are really cool. Nice tradition.

I am so sorry you didn't have a great Thanksgiving, although jammies and Edgar cooking sounds very appealing.
Yes -- I always find Christmas hard when one of my kids isn't there. It's just strange. Thanks for the sweet comments. Those were Xmas crackers and hats, but we thought we'd use them and get new ones. Sorry universe! I know, I know.
They went in the recycle box, so they can be used to make our Christmas ones.

The walls are actually a much nicer yellow in my studio. But every computer sees them differently. At school my computer turns yellow into apricot.
I usually get the huge crayons and think okay let's get the dinner over with so I can turn this room back into my studio and get to work. Then I drink a little more champagne and the urgency diminishes!

Thanks for reminding me. No that one is still in the fridge waiting for the right spirit of occasion.
Perhaps tonight when I've finished all of my work we'll have it. On
Canadian Thanksgiving we definitely enjoyed the wonderful Veuve.
