From the past -- an intense floral drawing

I taught a class tonight, it's hot, and I am tired, and
really happy.  It was a good class, a good day with art sales
in the offing, great news from wonderful artist friends,
and some decisions about a portrait I'm working on.

I was searching for something to show you tonight, and came
upon this wonderful drawing that my great artist friend
Marcia owns and it's by me.  I don't draw like that anymore,
and find coloured pencil too slow, but for awhile with
a baby crawling around my feet, drawing like this was
how I made a very modest living. Hats off to my younger
self for the perseverance, and hey -- I like it.

Have a loving your former work day!

It’s absolutely stunning, Barbara! And I join you in saying hats off to your younger self!! I found it nearly impossible to concentrate on any artwork when my children were little and very much admire mothers who have the perseverance to do so.

Thank you so much Liza. I think what happened was that we needed money, and in
therapy my husband asked me to work. So that's what I did. I could take breaks and
cuddle the baby, and care for him. But I kept on drawing.

XOXOXOXO Barbara
