The painted love lives on

Tonight I'm putting in one of my favorite paintings.
The sad thing is that it documents a happy time
in a loving marriage that ended. My friend can't
understand why I keep the painting. But I love it.
Not because it is of them, but because of the
emotion in it, the joy in the brush strokes. It has
to be about 7 years old, because I have been painting
exclusively in acrylics for at least 6 years.

The problem with art, is that it lasts long after children
have grown up, relationships have ended, parents
have died. But when we look at art from past
generations, isn't that part of what's vital about it
too?

Have a forgiving-the-past-and-living-happily day.

Oh Barbara. This is really a lovely painting. I can understand why you would keep. I can feel such emotional feelings in it. Just lovely.

Hi Barbara, I was once a water colorist and still have a few from the old days. One, my favorite "old one" is a snow scene titled "Anna's Place". Anna was very old and lived alone in a place her parents had homesteaded. It's a beautiful painting of a beautiful place. The developers were waiting for Anna to pass on so they could have what she wasn't willing to give up in life. Anna's place is no longer and has been developed. I think that is why the painting is one I'll never give up. It may be all there is left of what once was. You love the painting you did so many years ago. I get it.

Hi Eldon,

I'd like to see that painting.
It's sad that the place Anna
loved so much is gone.

I appreciate your comments,
referring people to my blog,
and your beautiful work.
