One of my super best artist friends, and a wonderful artist
Flora Doehler, sent me the sweetest link. She featured a
painting I posted as one of the best figure paintings of 2020.
Hit the link to see her favourites.

The year hasn't had a very long run, just 6 days, but that was
a very kind thing to do, and it made me feel wonderful! It is
not a new painting.  But the thought of painting a big canvas --
the subject of the painting, has been inspiring me for the
past few days.

I spent the day in the hospital again today, so although there's
nothing but good news (my leg is healing), I have not got anything
developed enough to show you.  Instead I'm going to put up two of
my favourite paintings of 2019.  They weren't created in 2019, but sold
in 2019, and I love both the paintings, the subjects and the collector.
Please check out the link to Flora's top 17! Blushing, and check out
her magnificent work if you don't already know it.

Have a praising your friends day.

I'm so glad that your leg is healing! I'm also glad that your doctors allow you to walk. I had to experiment to see if I could elevate one leg on my computer desk and still type. The answer is yes, but I'm not a pretty sight:)and I don't think I'd be comfortable very long. Dear Barbara, I hope things are back to normal for you very soon!

I love both of these paintings! Thank you for posting them. Happy New Year!

Hi Candy,

I haven't done much walking. Apparently it would be really bad to fall right now, and
I've gone through a spaz phase in the past couple of weeks, thinking about art
so deeply that I fell on my face on concrete, banged into every doorway and cupboard
in my house. So I chilled today and then my husband took me on a drive to my favourite
park to see the end of day light on the lake. I rode with my leg on the dashboard. Pretty
comfortable. Thanks for your kindness and inspiration.

Sweet, sweet husband! Definitely take it easy. Your story about being lost in thought reminds me of a few years ago. I went for a walk, wasn't paying attention, tripped over nothing and landed on my hands and knees on the sidewalk. I was wearing shorts and it really hurt. The worst of it was that there was a witness. A guy in a truck stopped and asked if I was okay. I plastered a smile on my face and told him I was fine. I was thinking, "I don't want to cry in front of this nice person." He drove on and I felt sorry for myself almost all the way home:) The one thing that snapped me out of it was a fenced in yard that I passed. There were bunnies hopping around in the yard. They were so cute! It was very unusual because we live right in the heart of Las Vegas - lots of dogs and cats but not very many rabbits.

Have a wonderful day!

Love this story Candy. When I fell a couple of weeks ago, a neighbour asked me if
I was okay, and I was abrupt with her because I didn't want to cry on the street.
I didn't see any bunnies (how lovely), but my own two cats and our dog cheered
me up immensely.

Take care,
