Getting a sky high in Ottawa

We just got in the door from a few days in Ottawa, the nation's
capital, staying in the Westin Hotel right downtown.

What did we love? The view out our window was spectacular.
Every day we ate breakfast sitting at one of those linen
covered room service tables. The china was white
porcelain, the coffee hot Starbucks. My oatmeal came
with fresh berries from the market, and the sun shone
down on the changing of the guards across the canal. So
we awoke to the sound of a marching band, and watched
the little parade each day as excited as a couple of school
kids. We saw our families, and that was wonderful. We're
both lucky to have great family living in the area.
Visually with all the amazing architecture in Ottawa,
what blew me away was the sky. Ottawa, like Toronto
has had its share of rain this summer. During our
stay rain and sun alternated about every half hour.

Blue sky Quebec side

But when the sun was out we were amazed at the
spectacularly dramatic cloud formations, and the
dazzling blue sky. About 50 kilometres out of
Toronto the smell of burning hit us. But it wasn't
burning -- just the air -- or as Steven said the smell
of five million barbecues. Not good my friends.

Have a breathing clean air day!
