Wanting fall to wait

Wildly happy flowers
watercolour, acrylic ink and black marker
on watercolour paper
6 x 9 inches

I found this little exuberant painting I did of nasturtiums a few
years ago, and thought it expressed my emotions about this time
of year perfectly.  Everything in the garden -- which never got
completely planted -- looks absolutely beautiful, and I dread the
day when I walk out and it is all mush, the hand of fall will have
fallen.

My friends all say -- but hey you love fall! I do love the cooler
weather and being able to walk in ideal temperatures.  But
this year Steven I have had dinner on the front porch looking
through the glorious tangle of leaves and branches of our
rose plant, and it has been such a treat to eat there.  Like a
picnic every night.

Okay. You're right. I better get ready, and my kitchen table will
be happy to take us back. Candles at the ready, our perpetual
bowl of lemons, and flowers.

Have a loving your life day.

This is such a happy painting! I am loving the cooler weather but am wishing we could have both the wonderful blooms with it. I am curious if you did a drawing first then the ink? or the ink then some drawing. Whichever way it is such an exuberant painting❣️

Hi Evelyn,

Thank you so much. I drew the drawing with marker, then painted it with
acrylic ink and watercolour. I like the ink because it's so vibrant.
Yes the cooler weather is wonderful, and we agree -- how about cooler weather
and flowers?
